Heyzap Payments Launched!

ss1

We are really excited to announce the launch of Heyzap Payments: a system to let any flash game developer sell virtual goods from with their game.

We received a great reception from the press:

TechCrunch

VentureBeat

Payments inside flash games are going to be huge this year and we have worked hard to make the process as easy and painless as possible for developers to integrate. We have also produced a smooth user flow which is improving with each iteration we do. Here are some common uses of our payments sytem:

  • Item purchases – buy swords shields
  • Level access – let user access premium levels
  • Mechanic upgrades – let users change gravity and other special mechanic
  • Bonus upgrades – let players save time in the game
  • Full version upgrades – let the user upgrade from a demo mode to a full version
  • Content upgrades – let users access special content e.g. a secret video
  • Social upgrades – let users perform special social interactions like private messaging each other

This is only the beginning of the Heyzap Payment platform. It compliments are current set of publisher tools and we are looking forward to getting what on our whiteboards into code!

We think this is a great opportunity for game developers to monetize and spread the benefits over the entire ecosystem. This launch is also great for website publishers as they can now be involved in revenue from virtual goods.

Watch this space….

  • Congratulations! Looks like you've got a strong opening, and I wish you the best of luck in turning this into something significant. Especially if it lets you increase the developer cut of revenue. ;)

2009 definitely does look to be the year that micropayments really take off in Flash games. I'm excited to see how it goes.

Oh, and, "It compliments are current set of publisher tools and we looking forward to getting what on our whiteboards into code!" - probably meant to be "It complements our current set of publisher tools and we are looking forward to getting what is on our whiteboards into code!"
  • Thanks for the comment axcho. Correction made.

We are equally excited. Talk soon.
  • I am hearing alot of chatter about developers trying desperatly to monetize their flash / social media games. This might be a step in the right direction. It seems that ever since Everquest & WOW everyone is chasing the big bucks online gaming.
  • I loved the way you exlained things. Much better many here

    regards
