Heyzap Launches Social Achievements for Mobile Games

Just 3 weeks after the launch of leaderboards, Heyzap has seen massive uptake. 100 games across Android and iPhone now have Heyzap leaderboards with 225k scores submitted.

From today Heyzap’s 9 million users will also be able to earn achievements in SDK integrated games.

How it works: A user plays a game and unlocks an achievement. This achievement is saved locally and they can chose to sign-up with Heyzap to share the achievement with their friends. All users on Heyzap have names, pictures and a social graph so the achievements are competitive as users try to beat each other.

Since the launch of leaderboards, achievements have been the most requested feature from game developers. Like the Heyzap Leaderboards, achievements will be cross platform and available to Android, iOS and Unity games.

Achievements are a popular feature in mobile games as they drive engagement and are fun for users. With Heyzap game developers don’t have to make achievements from scratch and get the benefit of social sharing on Heyzap and optionally Facebook and Twitter.

Heyzap prioritized achievement support for developers before the December 14th server shut down of Openfeint. The launch of Achievements comes just in time for the holiday season, the most popular season for game developers.

Along with the check-in and Leaderboard SDK, which allows users to easily promote which games they are playing, Heyzap is now connected to over 3,200 games on Android and iOS. Heyzap has powered millions of game installs since launching and works with game developers such as Zynga, Bigfish, PocketGems, Tinyco and Com2US.
